Let me say that this plugin is AMAZING. I'm building a wordpress site in a gallery format and the sorting option makes this look like a CMS.

By the way if you are getting this error:

Fatal error: Using $this when not in object context in
/home/launchpa/public_html/clean/s/wp-content/plugins/wp-smart-sort/wp-smart-sort.php
on line 137

Your server probably is using PHP5 but this script still uses PHP4. To solve this
error open wp-smart-sort.php and replace all

$this->   for    self::

Hi Ed,

It seems that because your blog is not using permalinks the plugin is causing a not found error. When I wrote the plugin I didn't consider compatibility for blog not using permalinks but I'll write it into the next version (thanks for helping me realize this). In the mean time I'd suggest enabling permalinks on the blog. Let me know if this helps.

Regards
DyasonHat

I get an error if I use it as a widget:

The requested URL /jupiterthree/sort/_post_date_gmt-pp-asc/ was not found on this server.

If I use it in the template (the code above) the sort bar does not show up.

Hi again!

Seems that the sorting that I would like to have is impossible to do with this plugin.

So I guess I would have to create a Custom Query instead.

However I think this Plugin might be useful in other cases, I'll be back.

Best Regards Krezz

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for the question, yes you can really do anything with advanced implementation using the plugin API (further down in the documentation).

I would suggest something like the following in your theme:

<a href="http://dyasonhat.com/wp-smart-sort-custom1.txt" rel="nofollow">Source Example</a>

Cheers Dyasonhat.

Thanks for the great work on this. I see the "basic implementation" in the docs for the premium version. Is there an advanced implementation that allows for multiple customized searches? I want to implement a search of an online library (searching only predefined CATS 6, 7, 8 and several meta fields, for example) on one page and then provide a search for the entire site with user options. Is this doable? Thanks.
